Ms Anca Buta Muşat has an extensive experience in dealing with the whole range of competition issues as she successfully advised and represented clients involved in major takeovers on the Romanian market, both before the European Commission and the Romanian Competition Council, or  in anti-competitive practices, unfair competition, exclusivity arrangements, technology transfer agreements, category management contracts and notifications for individual exemptions. She also gathered significant knowledge in assisting clients during "dawn raid" investigations, as well as designing, implementing and monitoring compliance programs.

Her other main specialization is intellectual property, where she gathered impressive expertise in lodging applications for registration of IPR (intellectual property rights) in various jurisdictions, as well as drafting and negotiating relevant contracts, such as licensing, assignment, franchise, JV for establishing local production, or other IP-based contractual agreements. As certified IP counsellor, Ms Buta Muşat is particularly skilled in addressing all the legal issues surrounding the rights of ownership of patents and inventions, new technologies, trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, trade secrets, programs, data and formulas. Further areas of expertise include Mergers & Acquisitions/Privatizations, Banking & Financing and EU Law.

Ms Buta Muşat holds an LLM in Transnational Business Practice from the University of Salzburg/University of the Pacific and a PGD in Competition from King’s College in London. She speaks Romanian, English, French and Greek and is a member of the Bucharest and Romanian Bar Associations.
