Ms Popa has advised leading foreign international corporations doing business in Romania, as well as a wide range of domestic clients and public authorities.

She acted in major foreign investment projects and corporate acquisitions, advised clients in complex transactions and gained a wealth of experience in all aspects of public procurement, concessions, PPP/PFI, greenfield projects development, commercial property transactions as well as real estate & construction.

Ms. Popa developed broad legal expertise in foreign investment protection and international arbitration, being involved in important multi-jurisdictional legal projects. She has also acted as a team leader in projects involving the issuance of complex environmental permits, authorizations and licenses, as well as in issues pertaining to the harmonization of the regulatory framework with the EU acquis and constantly advises industrial clients with respect to environmental matters on a full range of permitting and operational matters.

She further specializes in EU Law, environmental law and natural resources, having published and lectured frequently on related legal aspects. Ms Popa holds a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration (DiplCArb) from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Postgraduate Diploma in European Union Law from King’s College London. She speaks Romanian, English and French, being a member of the Bucharest Bar Association and of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb).
