Bucharest, 15 March 2017: Mușat & Asociații law firm extends its management structure, promoting another four attorneys as Partners, starting from 1 March 2017. With a vast professional and management experience, prior to this appointment, the new promoted Partners were part of the firm’s Managing Associates team.
The four new Partners are: Vlad Cordea, Bogdan Mihai, Bogdan Riti and Liviu Togan, specialized in key practice areas of the firm.
Besides the promotions at the level of the partnership, a number of five experienced attorneys climb the law firm’s hierarchy, being promoted in the position of Managing Associates, namely Dana Buscu (Restructuring & Insolvency, Commercial Disputes), Iuliana Iacob (International Arbitration, Commercial Disputes), Andrei Ormenean (Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions), Iuliana Popa (Restructuring & Insolvency, Commercial Disputes) and Ioana Varga (Litigations and Arbitration, Co-Head of the Cluj regional office of Muşat & Asociaţii).
Another twelve attorneys were promoted in the position of Senior Associates, namely (in alphabetical order): Ana Maria Abrudan, Coralia Alecu, Raluca Alexandru, Mateea Codreanu, Diana Dobromir, Adrian Danciu, Ștefan Diaconescu, Maria Dosan, George Ghitu, Mihai Macovei, Alina Man, Anca Simeria.
The promotions concern the departments of Litigations & Arbitration, Mergers and Acquisitions, Energy and Natural Resources, Corporate and Commercial Law, Competition Law, Restructuring and Insolvency and Criminal Law.
Following these changes, as of 1 March, the Mușat & Asociații team reaches a number of 20 partners and over 100 attorneys, tax advisors and insolvency practitioners.
About the four new Partners:
Vlad Cordea becomes Partner after a professional experience of over 14 years in the legal field, of which the last 9 years with Mușat & Asociații. He is specialized in the areas of Energy and Natural Resources, Infrastructure and Public-Private Partnerships, Corporate and Commercial Law, but also Capital Markets. Vlad advised many local firms, especially international companies with business in Romania in relation to a broad spectrum of legal aspects concerning corporate reorganizations, capital increases, financing and green field investments in the renewable energy sector and other economic sectors. Vlad Cordea graduated from the Law Faculty within Babeş – Bolyai University in 2003, as well as the Law College of European Studies within Pantheon Sorbonne University, with Master’s Degree, in 2012.
Bogdan Mihai is promoted as Partner with Muşat & Asociaţii, being recognised as one of the most valued attorneys in the areas of Telecommunications, Media IT and Data Protection. Bogdan has been a part of Muşat & Asociaţii team since 2000, firm where he also started his career, immediately after graduating from Law Faculty. Throughout his legal practice, Bogdan provided legal advice in relation to the purchase of many cable TV operators in Romania, he advised local and international companies in relation to different contracts for software development and the harmonization of the European legislation with the national legislation, he granted legal assistance in the privatization process of some companies, as well as in various due-diligence investigations. In addition, Bogdan provides regular legal assistance services in the field of Corporate and Commercial Law, as well as in Mergers and Acquisitions. Bogdan Mihai has a Master’s Degree in Business Law conferred upon him by the Law Faculty within West University of Timişoara and has been a member of the Bucharest Bar since 2000.
Bogdan Riti became Partner following a professional experience of 14 years within Muşat & Asociaţii, being specialised in Corporate & Commercial Law, Labour & Employment, Mergers & Acquisitions, Restructuring & Insolvency. Throughout his activity with Mușat & Asociații, Bogdan provided assistance to various foreign investors, international financial institutions, international and local institutions regarding corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, post-acquisitions restructurings, commercial transactions, financing and real estate projects, as well as counselling to some investment funds interested in carrying out local activities. Bogdan has been a member of the Bucharest Bar since 2002 and he has been a part of Mușat & Asociații team since March 2003.
Liviu Togan is being promoted as Partner within Muşat & Asociaţii having a professional experience of 17 years in the legal field, being specialised in Criminal Law (White-Collar Crime), Corporate & Commercial Law, Litigation & Arbitration. Liviu represented various companies and individuals (especially businessmen and public figures) before criminal investigation authorities and Romanian courts at all levels, within complex legal proceedings aiming at offences of corruption, tax evasion, money laundering, creation of organised crime groups, as well as abuse of office, deceit etc. His expertise also includes compliance corporate audits, by granting assistance to clients from among commercial companies for identification and remedy of criminal risks that can affect the economic activity of such companies. Liviu also provides the representation of clients in disputes related to the administrative and tax law, corporate law and insolvency proceeding.
